Visual Shock

Now I'm going to introduce ヴィジュアル系 ( Visual Shock ).

This is a kind type of Rock Band or a kind of Musicians. It does not mean a type of music style, it is like showing music with express their emotion in a visual way. Refers to a movement among Japanese musicians, many people think that the visual system emerged in 90S in the early 20th century in Japan, but I think, they just very similar with the early 60S Occident Bands which like Glitter Rock.

Based on the theory that can be called the beautiful rock for the visual shock of the former, characterized by the use of make up, elaborate hair styles and flamboyant costumes, often but not always, coupled with androgynous aesthetics. Also refers to a music genre, or to a sub-genre of a term referring to Japanese rock in general, with its own particular sound, related to glam-rock, punk and metal.

So VISUAL ROCK is carry forward Occident bands style which like ANDROGYNOU, GLITTER ROCK, THEEATER. Because they share common characteristics: Extravagant enchanting make-up, understanding of dress, self-serving pity, Provocative first performance, and the idea of factions associated with the arts.
